Convenience Sales Representative

Job Description

The role of the Convenience Sales Representative is to drive territory growth and business acceleration for independent convenience stores. The Convenience Sales Representative will be the only sales contact with 80% of these stores and will be entirely responsible for both new and incremental sales. The Sales rep will focus on driving these selling opportunities by expanding distribution and selling in promotional plans. Key competencies of this position are strong selling, negotiation, and account management skills. They must have a proven record of success in a sales capacity and have the ability to grow and manage customer relationships. Each sales rep will be assigned to a territory of approximately 120-170 convenience stores, each of which they will visit once every one to three months, and will be equipped with software/technology to assist with the routing and selling process.

Approximately 85% of the role will be direct selling to decision makers – the Convenience Sales Representative is responsible for increasing market share in the stores on their route.

Primary Responsibilities:

Business Delivery

  • Deliver against quarterly sales objectives

  • Leverage category management principles to deliver triple wins for the shopper, customer, and Mondelez

  • Identify and drive selling opportunities by focusing on new distribution and expanding promotional opportunities

  • Monitor and analyze category trends and business performance to execute fact-based selling

Customer Management

  • Relationship Development - Build and maintain business partnerships with key decision makers within stores

  • Selling & Negotiation - Leverage selling skills to deliver against key MDLZ distribution, promotion, and executional initiatives

  • Problem Solving - Anticipate customer needs, determine appropriate solutions, and provide high level of customer service

Territory Management

  • Record all weekly activity and key customer intel in Salesforce

  • Assess viability of current store route list and provide timely feedback to supervisor for necessary adjustments

  • Conduct all business operations within Mondelēz International policy and safety guidelines

Along with a competitive compensation package, the Sales Representative is also eligible to participate in an incentive program based on territory results.

Requirements:

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and have access to the internet

High School Diploma or GED required; College degree preferred

Previous grocery, retail, sales, and/or customer service experience is highly preferred

Successful completion of drug test, MVR check, and general background check
