To our team in Bern we are currently looking to hire:

Automation Engineer

As part of Manufacturing, you’ll use your skills, our systems and a wide array of raw materials to help create the delicious finished products our consumers love. While taking ownership in your area of work, you’ll also ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues while producing our top-quality products reliably and efficiently within our integrated supply chain.

Your responsibilities:

  • Independently define, plan and implement the necessary redress and preventive maintenance measures in the production process control system in consultation with the production and the central maintenance.

  • Be responsible for error analysis, troubleshooting and repair of machines, plants and infrastructures.

  • Independent organization, planning and preparation of the necessary program backups and program documentation of the installed systems with modern equipment with respect to functional risks are balanced with production expectations and the financial resources.

  • Optimization of systems to ensure an uninterrupted production process.

  • Further development of the control system in the production with modern equipment in compliance with the financial resources and production expectations to ensure long-term functionality and value of the installed systems.

  • Active support for projects, new installations and commissioning of machines in the plant.

  • Control adjustments and troubleshooting for SPS and other steering systems.

  • Meet the necessary measures in connection with the production and training manager to establish and develop the skills to serve the controllers correctly by network technicians and machine operators, so that they become a link in the process control and keeping the highest possible level of education.

  • Ensure from a technical point of view that the production lines are operated according to the principles of CI and Lean Manufacturing culture.

  • Assist with special expertise in the purchase of process control equipment, and create specifications for process control.

Qualifications

  • Min. 3-5 years of professional experience as an automation engineer

  • Graduate engineer in automatic control or industrial automation or technical college graduate

  • Good knowledge of SPS

  • Innovative, flexible and independent

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Fluent in German and good knowledge of English
