Overall Role Intent:

The Process Engineer is a key contributor and champion of the advancement of our Factories towards

Mondelez Quest to Be the Best Vision. Responsible for loss intelligence, loss eradication and loss

prevention throughout the Operation, Process Engineers work with Leadership and Core Teams to

build capability and engagement to support our business in achieving performance improvement goals

(safety, quality, delivery, cost and sustainability).

As a member of the Core Team, the Process Engineer participates on daily management routine of the

line he/she is associated with and also on monthly and annual loss analysis process, making use of

PDCA (Plan Do Check Adjust) to track performance and develop plans and actions to meet or exceed

site targets.

A key expectation of the role is to build capability of Core Operators and Maintenance colleagues as

losses are identified and eradicated – the loss prevention is a key element of continuous improvement

and skills to execute new established standards (Cleaning Inspection Lubrication (CIL) in case of

Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Pillar and Planned Maintenance (PM) Standards in case of

Progressive Maintenance) is a key deliverable of Process Engineers.

The Desired Skills:

The key skills of a Process Engineer are root cause analysis, change management and coaching others.

These skills are developed and grown as part of the application of tools of Focused Improvement

Pillar, understanding of AM and PM Pillar work-processes of the Integrated Lean Six Sigma program.

The Process Engineer must develop a strong partnership with operations, maintenance, quality and

safety to lead various teams responsible for identifying, documenting and controlling best practices in

their functional area – so interpersonal and team work skills are fundamental to engage 100% of

Line/Site population. Process Engineers are strong agents of change and possess the ability to lead and

motivate others.

Driving decision making with robust data analysis, the Process Engineer understands the value of

bringing science and engineering to manufacturing. He/She will spend time to understand the

technology associate with manufacturing process (eg chocolate or biscuit making process, packing,

etc) and engage with Machine suppliers to understand equipment working principles and/or reach out

to Ingredient suppliers as necessary when eradicating losses. Process Engineers will develop their

skills assuring permanent achievement of high quality products by managing all aspects related to the

manufacturing process.

Key Accountabilities

Support all plant safety initiatives related to line processes.

Engage in Daily Management System (DMS) Meetings to lead plans for loss analysis and

loss eradication.

Lead and coach core teams to identify and analyze losses and develop solutions and control

plans using FI/Lean Tools such as Working Principles, 5 Whys, Statistics tools, Control

Charts, Pareto and FMEA, etc

Support waste reductions initiatives such as War on Waste, Manufacturing Standards and

World Class Scrap/Water Programs, Over Pack attainment including all R&D as well as

Quality initiated projects.

Provide technical support to develop new cost saving programs and execute active projects.

Lead the activities to document and capture best operating practices, centerline equipment

and build capability in the core teams, proactively communicate key learnings to enable

best practice replication across all shifts and across lines.

Analyze performance data to support yearly, monthly and day-to-day Global Efficiency

improvement – have clarity and targets to reduce Planned and Unplanned Downtime

Actively support R&D and Engineering for all development programs targeting process

equipment, new products, recipes, technologies and packaging.

Provide technical support on production and equipment requirements for raw materials and

finished goods, standards and specifications, standards of raw materials costs, types of

defects and how to prevent them.

Identify and plan Kaizen/Performance Improvement activities such as speed increase,

minor stop reduction, scrap reduction, planned downtime reduction (SMED, visual

controls) and labor efficiency improvement.

Ensure teams understand and report on Key Performance Indicators such as Safety, Quality,

Global Efficiency, Downtime, and Consumer Complaints. Process Engineers have mastery

on on-line performance tools e.g. DMS and adoption of iDF (Integrated Digital Factory), so

value is created through on-line control allowing Core Team intervention in the

manufacturing process enabling ZERO losses.

Support new product introduction and major capital initiatives, providing performance data

analysis to ensure product and delivery standards are met.

Other related duties as assigned



Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Science, Operations or a related field

Self-starter with the ability to prioritize, take ownership and deliver results against

challenging performance indicators

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively across all levels

of the organization

Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously

Strong organizational, analytical, influence and negotiation skills

Knowledge of statistics and process control tools and Integrated Lean Six Sigma Work

Systems strongly preferred although not essential as training will be provided internally

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly adapt to new systems

Production, Process or Continuous Improvement experience within Food or Consumer

Goods Manufacturing strongly preferred

A disciplined profile is a key characteristic and some Project Management experience is


Ability to work off shifts and weekends as needed by the business

Willing to relocate in the future
