The Senior Counsel CZSKHUN is responsible for the management of Legal support to the business units in CZ, SK and HUN. The position requires to give legal advice and full legal support on a broad range of legal matters, projects and areas for the relevant markets, including in particular contract, corporate, labor, competition, advertising and food law, data protection, specific regulatory topics and marketing and sales legal support.

How you will contribute

The responsibilities include in particular:

  • Management of the legal department in CZ/SK/HUN (1 additional team member), reporting directly to the Senior Director & Chief Counsel Central Europe based in Germany. Providing legal support to all company functions and ensuring they are aligned with the company’s internal policies and rules, goals and objectives, business strategies, and local legal regulations.

  • Accountability for providing full legal services to all legal entities forming the Organization´s holding structure in CZSKHUN, in particular but not limited to coordination of legal issues and legal matters for Mondelēz business units and plants in CZSKHUN; Preparing, coordinating and reviewing contracts and providing legal input and support to all relevant internal stakeholders (particular areas: contract law, corporate law, labor law, food law, data protection law, specific regulatory topics, as well as labelling of products and legal advice to Marketing and Sales functions);

  • Due to provide sound and comprehensive legal information and analysis to the Organization’s partners, directors and executive board members in connection with adopting the Organization´s strategic decisions and assess legal impact of the Organization’s business decisions.

  • Within the risk management process, reconciling the achievement of the Organization’s business objectives with applicable laws governing the Organization’s business activities.

  • Supporting specific cross-functional and cross- country projects (EU and/or local projects) and provide legal input and support.

  • Providing regular legal training sessions, in particular for colleagues in Sales and Marketing department.

  • Close collaboration with the Central Compliance function and the EU Chief Compliance Officer, in particular with regard to implementation of new national and EU Legislation, Corporate Policies & Procedures by ensuring compliance with Czech/Slovak/Hungarian legislation. Participating, as required, in the amendment and/or drafting of up-dated or new policies, procedures, orders, instructions, regulations and other formal documents.

  • In close cooperation with the Corporate and Government Affairs function, represent the Organization’s legal and business interests vis-a-vis authorities, regulators and other public bodies as well as being actively engaged in activities of relevant trade associations.

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career with experience and knowledge in:

  • University degree in Law and Admission to the bar in either CZ, SK or Hungary

  • Double qualification in one additional relevant country is a strong plus

  • Familiarity and practical experience in all three relevant jurisdictions is a strong plus

  • Practical experience at the position of a leading inhouse lawyer of more than 8 years required, preferably in a multinational corporate environment.

  • Experience in people management and people development

  • Strong Expertise in Corporate Law, Competition & Antitrust Law, Commercial Law, Labour laws, Contract laws, Data Protection Law within relevant legislation CZSKHUN

  • Expertise and Experience in Food Law is a plus

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience

  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Very good verbal and written communicational skills in English; professional language skills in an additional relevant language (CZ, SK, HUN) is a strong plus.

  • High standard of written and verbal business correspondence

  • Ability to learn quickly and to adapt to new operational/business environment
