To lead and manage the planning team in plant as to fulfill the demand with the balance of supply requirement, capacity and resources optimization, and optimal inventory level. To work closely with the Business Unit’s supply and demand planning team as to deliver the overall business goals.

Some of the key accountabilities for this role will include (but are not limited to)

  • Support and actively participate in the sites Safety, Security and Environment Management systems and programs to drive a safe working culture that complies with regulatory and Mondelez’s standards and delivers zero accidents.

  • Ensure safe and ergonomic environment for production worker.

  • Be instrumental in driving behavioural and cultural change within the operating area.

  • Ensure site planners (production and material planners) are trained and complying to all related procedures (including quality and plant), work instructions, standards and forms on latest revision. Responsible to ensure that related procedures, work instructions, standards and forms reflect current practices and are continuously improving

  • Develop and manage site planning team, for excellence in line with the Global Model.

  • Periodic review of site supply planning fundamentals, ensuring team is planning against the latest standards. Drive stability through production / material planning process.

  • Manage a team of Production Planners and Material Planners and develop and maintain accurate and feasible production and direct materials supply plans.

  • To balance supply and net requirements across a rolling 6-12 months horizon.

  • Analyse long terms resources requirements, and provision of 12 months resources planning to Management. Manage and communicate risks & opportunities in the production plans and identify future production capacity requirements to achieve commercial growth strategies.

  • Responsible for supervision, motivation and control of production staff to achieve the specified objectives.

  • Train and guide subordinates to develop their abilities to achieve department’s goals

  • Ensure on-the-job training to production staff.

  • Partner with relevant site lead team and operations lead team to ensure effective handover from supply to scheduling and manufacturing.

  • Daily monitoring of CTS and volume compliance, and highlight risk to the market supply planner if any from production compliance misses.

  • Request for recovery where necessary.

  • Partner with market Supply Planners to ensure that finished goods inventories are produced against the latest inventory norms. Ensure that there is a robust weekly / monthly review of direct materials inventory projections, which clearly highlight excesses and shortages. Assess and resolve/communicate issues which are going to lead to supply shortfalls or excess stocks and lead/support projects which will eliminate root causes.

  • Participate in the daily (Daily Management System-DMS4) meeting, provide update on latest supply issues, follow up on compliance and recovery plans on SKUs. To have update of daily compliance status, and any other planning related issues

  • To support the IL6S program and progression in the plant and to lead the Supply Network pillar

  • All NPD and promo that have been approved for LR are closely tracked and monitored. Actively participate and contribute in Project Commercialization Manager’s meeting. Assist to ensure that production plan for NPD / promo are scheduled to meet the pipelining quantity and there is no supply disruption during the product launch. Ensure packaging material required for promo and NPD are kept to fulfill the launch forecast 4 months forward forecast.

  • Partner with plant team to manage direct materials inventory of SKUs impacted through productivity projects. Ensure that production planning takes into consideration any ramp up requirements at project start up.

  • Partner with plant warehouse team on managing direct materials inventories, ensuring aging stocks are identified with clear plans on run down.

  • Drive overall continuous improvement and productivity activities in the department.

  • Any other tasks as required by the line manager.


Education, Knowledge, Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Food science, Operations Management etc.

  • Minimum 5 years experience of planning in manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in leadership position in Production Planning Department

  • Good knowledge of process / products

  • Good communicator and with leadership

  • Strong people management skills

  • Proficient in Ms Office

  • Proactive & an effective change agent

  • SAP knowledge and exposure

  • MRP/ERP knowledge
