The position of Head of Sales at Mondelēz Austria is a newly created position. The role will be part of the Austrian Leadership team to which the National Account Managers will directly report to.

The future Head of Sales Austria will be responsible for Net Revenues of approx. € 190 MM and a total Sales team.

The role will report into Francesco Vitrano, the Managing Director Austria, just like the Head of Field Sales AT and the Category Planning & Activation Lead AT.

The role is based in Vienna. However, a percentage of remote working is planned as part of Mondelēz Hybrid working model.

Context / Background:

Despite Mondelēz’ long-standing success, the organization has gone through substantial change with intense reorganization activities. Austria has successfully grown the business, and the Head of Sales role will be an enabler to our long-term growth strategy. Therefore, the Head of Sales will need to create ONE Sales Team and develop it into a high performing Team as part of the broader multifunctional and cross-country (DACH) organization, ensuring seamless collaboration thoughtfully but passionately.

How you will contribute

Purpose of the role is to build on the strong success and customer relationships Mondelēz Austria and accelerate/bring them to a new level. You will energetically lead and drive the sales team to plan for snack category growth and deliver on the annual objectives. You are an enabler that coaches and guides sales team in order to build capability while also removing roadblocks.

Aside planning and (over-) delivery of internal (financials) and external (market share gains, customers value creation) KPI’s, you will create the spirit and mindset, set clear strategic priorities related to channels and customers translated into action plans.

A related objective is to build a high performing team that is rooted in Purpose, Ownership and willingness to succeed. Bringing the organization to a new level will in that instance also consist of redefining the ways in which we operate with a strong focus on capability building and development. Capability building areas will encompass how we manage KAs, Joint Value Creation via Joint Business Planning and Category Management, but also negotiations skills, fierce conversations, and ensure we follow pay for performance based TTC.

The ideal candidate brings a strong track record in Sales from FMCG companies with a focus on driving profitable growth. A high affinity to iconic brands and how to capitalize on their value with consumers/shoppers at the center. You know the Austrian trade very well and are ideally connected to decision makers of the largest (food) retail companies (if applicable: and multinational buying groups). Forward thinking, recognizes trends early on. Given the size and complexity of the role, both results accountability at scale and leading sizeable teams is a demonstrated strength. An inspiring and engaging leadership style, skilled communicator, you feel comfortable in an international organization while having an entrepreneurial mindset. You are hands-on, fast-paced, yet humble with exceptional collaboration, stakeholder management and influencing skills.

German (mother tongue) and English (fluent) language is a requirement.

Mandatory information in Austria: The salary is graded in the Collective Labor Agreement “KV für Angestellte und Lehrlinge im Handel”. If you meet the mentioned requirements the entry gross-salary for this position will be EUR 103.000,-- per year, split up in 14 pays for full-time. We’re willing to overpay, dependent on your professional work experience and qualification.

The responsibilities of this position are performed within the framework of a regional business model that is defined and managed by Mondelēz Europe GmbH, Switzerland .
