Working as part of a cross-functional team you lead the RDQ activities required to complete new product development and maintain portfolios and/or productivity projects keeping in mind the goal to deliver the desired consumer experience.

How you will contribute

You will work independently to plan, lead and coordinate technical projects in line with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements You will effectively communicate status and risks and plan, lead and coordinate pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. In addition, you will plan, lead and coordinate development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation. etc.). To provide direction for product development, you will use digital simulation models to obtain, understand and interpret consumer insights and commercial information. In this role, you will create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications and be responsible for stakeholder management and influencing decisions based on conclusions made from analysis and interpretation of results.

What you need to know about this position:

We have now an exciting opportunity for a talented R&D professional to join our MEU R&D Snacks Growth Platform in the role of Senior Scientist II. The group’s responsibilities cover all Bake Rolls, Cracker Enzymes and Chips within the MEU region, TUC, Ritz and Belin being the key brands so far.

On this role you will:

  • Manage several projects in parallel and/or a highly complex project with limited coaching.

  • Shape & propose project Timelines, Design and Develop products & processes in order to deliver project to the required standards, policies, agreed timescales / cost and meet objectives without compromising quality for Consumer.

  • Organize and execute pilot plant &, plant trials, industrial launch, provide recommendations to the project team.

  • As R&D representative, lead communication within the multifunctional project team about progress and risks for product and process development.

  • Connect and use network to develop better and faster products & processes.

  • Support and recommend continuous development of Technical Competencies in the team including Digitalization, M&S.

  • Recommend consumers’ product validation process and manage R&D product validation with consumer science.

  • Participate actively to creativity sessions and exploratory work.

Requirements:

  • Educated to a minimum Master level in Food Science/Biotechnology or similar

  • Significant professional experience 5-10 years in Biscuit/Snacks (e.g. implementation of new technology, productivity, quality improvement or innovation growth).

  • Deep knowledge in Savory technologies, raw materials and processes.

  • Strong knowledge in Statistics, Digitalization, M&S

  • Excellence in execution, solid organization skills, projects and time management.

  • Fluent in English is mandatory

Travel requirements:

Travels required across Europe (for around 10-20% of a time)

The responsibilities of this position are performed within the framework of a regional business model that is defined and managed by Mondelēz Europe GmbH, Switzerland.
